Your’s, Mine, and the Truth

So Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him, and Ahab went to meet Elijah. When he saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” “I have not made trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “But you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the Lord’s commands and have followed the Baals.

So Ahab sent word throughout all Israel and assembled the prophets on Mount Carmel. Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal is god, follow him.” But the people said nothing.

Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire—he is God.” Then all the people said, “What you say is good.”

Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord —He is God! The Lord —He is God!” (‭1 Kings‬ ‭18‬:‭16-18, 20-21, 24, 38-39‬ NIV)

This is only part of the story where Elijah encountered Ahab and the prophets of Baal.

I have two observations for which you may choose to evaluate in today’s political climate.

1. Ahab and Elijah had two differing views of the current circumstances.

As with many things there are always three sides to the truth; yours, mine, and what really happened. If you read the story the answer of what was and wasn’t truth was evident.

2. God will always win, regardless of the decisions we make here on earth.

It is a scary climate we live in today. The government is beginning to change what is and isn’t moral based on political agendas and preference instead of moral code and absolute truth. 2 Timothy 4 declares it is the sign of the end time, and our Messiah will soon be returning.

I don’t know what is going to happen in and to America. I’m glad I don’t have to know. What I do know is God is God, and He doesn’t change His mind. He is consistent from Genesis to Revelation, and that is where I am putting my trust!

Here is a brief passage from 2 Timothy 4 for you to evaluate where you stand.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭1-5, 14-17‬ NIV)

Pass It On!

So the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD which He had done for Israel. Now Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died when he was one hundred and ten years old.

When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the LORD nor the work which He had done for Israel. (‭Judges‬ ‭2‬:‭7-8, 10‬ NKJV)

This is a sad commentary!

For Our Own Good

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to Him, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? (‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭10‬:‭12-13‬ NIV)

Nothing has changed!

Are You Certain?

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (‭Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭12-14‬ NKJV)

Evaluate and be sure.

It Is Only Going To Get Worse?

When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven. (‭Revelation‬ ‭11‬:‭7-13‬ NKJV)

The two witnesses.

There Is Hope

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” (‭Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭1-5‬ NKJV)

I’m not sure much has changed.

Are You Listening?

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. ” ’

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ (‭Revelation‬ ‭2‬:‭11, 17, 29‬ NKJV)

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ” (‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭6, 13, 22‬ NKJV)

An Ah Ha Moment

So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body. Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said. (‭John‬ ‭2‬:‭18-22‬ NKJV)

I can only Imagine how many they had!

Integrity Should Not Be Adjusted for Circumstances

4So the governors and satraps sought to find somecharge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. 5Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find itagainst him concerning the law of his God.”

10Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
11Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. (Daniel 6: 4-5, 10-11 NKJV)
Integrity is something that is not adjusted by circumstances!

YOUR Purpose and Life Calling!

Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar.

Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. (‭Ezekiel‬ ‭47‬:‭1, 8‬ NKJV)
