Remember Who You Are Fighting!

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10-12‬ NLT)

What a day today.  I have been reading on social media that many people are under spiritual attack.  I have been reading about how there are disagreements and division amongst friends and believers.  I have heard about Godly men and women belittling other Godly men and women.  In my daily reading today it brought me to this passage of scripture in Ephesians chapter 6, and it is truth!

Today this is a reminder for me, and hopefully a reminder for all who read it.  The enemy is the enemy.  Your spouse, your friend, your co-worker, that person who has a different political agenda then you, and anyone else is not the enemy.  Satan, and principalities and powers of darkness are your enemy.  The enemy would love nothing more than to divide and conquer.  Scripture declares that a house divided cannot stand.  So let’s walk in unity.  Let’s pray for one another.  Let’s remember where two or three are gathered, He is in the midst of you!

If you are in conflict.

If you are in turmoil.

If you are under spiritual attack.

Remember who your enemy is, and take the battle there.  It doesn’t do any good to fight the wrong fight.  If you “win” what do you win?  Take it to the principalities and powers of darkness, and take back ground from the enemy!

Direct Statements Should Lead to Direct Action

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭15-17‬ NKJV)

Paul makes a simple statement.

My Gift & My Calling

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” (‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭7-8‬ NKJV)

A reminder for me!

Ephesians 5:22-33 describes how a husband and wife are supposed to interact in a Godly marriage.

Today marks 18 years of marriage to my beautiful wife, or

568,080,000 seconds
9,468,000 minutes
157,800 hours
6575 days
939 weeks

That is a long time to some people, and to others they would say we are just getting started. To both of there’s responses my answer would be yes. It has been a long time of which I am proud. With the Lord’s help, and the rapture not happening. We are just getting started. My parent celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this year, and my in-laws celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary.

Here is what I want to say today:
I love my wife!
I am better because of her!
I can’t believe she has hung out with me all of these years, but I am certainly grateful.
I hope we have another 60 years together. My life is better with you in it!

I hope we can keep doing out best to live this way before God and man!

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.

This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭22-30, 32-33‬ NKJV)
