Excuses Excuses

Then Moses said to the LORD, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” So the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” (‭Exodus‬ ‭4‬:‭10-12‬ NKJV)

Excuses excuses

Moses had real physical limitations, in his mind. Most people believe he probably stuttered as a result of this passage of scripture. He was clearly insecure about this physical attribute. Why do I choose this passage of scripture today? Because we all have real limitations. Things we would use as an excuse to not be obedient. Clearly you are no longer allowed to do that.

God’s response is the same response He would give you. Do you think I do not know about your limitations? Do you think I cannot use you in spite of your limitations? Why do you think your limitations are limitations? Do you not think I can help you overcome those limitations?

Moses was used to deliver the children of Israel from the bondage of Egypt. Some believe it could have been up to a million people that he led out of Egypt. That is a pretty incredible feat considering the average size of a church in America today is around 50. Yet, he had a stuttering problem.

We are all called to do something for the Lord. He is not going to force you to do it. You have the choice. Let your limitations define you, or walk in His grace and mercy. Remember, He is made strong in our weaknesses anyway. What are you waiting for. Go out and do great things for Him today!

Last thought, we also need to stop limiting others because of physical limitations we may see in them. We are not allowed to limit others because of something we see. They may be the very person who is going to bring victory in your life because they are submitted to the Lord! Just saying!
