“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36 NKJV)
Are we watching?
Pretty straight forward passage of scripture!
Take heed- To give careful attention to
Lest your hearts be weighed down- What has our attention?
The day of His return IS coming- Are we prepared, or will we be caught off guard?
If we are prepared, and if we are praying we will escape the things which will happen- What things? End times, tribulation, or maybe something that we do not know about. Regardless, it would seem to insinuate this is something we probably want to miss!
Stand before the Son of Man- Every knee will eventually bow, and every tongue will eventually confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We can do it willingly on this earth, or cry out after it is to late at the point of judgement. The opportunity is ours now. Cry out to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith.
